LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

mail-box-full-colorDear Sir,

I am disappointed in your editing. The piece “courtesy of Elaine Partnow” (March issue) “It is called spin, folks” is a much used internet slur of primarily left-leaning politicians by the right. It was used against Hillary in the primaries. The picture referred to is actually Black Jack Ketchum, a horse thief. This same intro “Judy Wallman a professional genealogist…” was used to claim Al Gore’s relative was a horse thief, etc.

The most recent victim of the exact same slur is a leader of one of the more liberal Canadian political parties: Stephen Dion; his ran in Dec 2008.

You are absolutely right, and are not the first to mention this. From now on, we will be checking out Scope with increased diligence so as to more carefully ascertain the validity of such charges. Thanks for your interest in our publication.
