Ramblings From The Ranch – November 2025

Happy tails!

As of this writing, The Ranch is currently bursting at the seams with dogs — and puppies. If you have been thinking about adopting, we would love for you to visit and choose one of our special dogs. Two families who adopted from The Ranch share their happy tales (tails?) here to inspire you.

“Our family has always had a heart for adopting and rescuing dogs. We love being able to give them a safe, loving home. I’ve always trusted that the right dog will come into our lives at the right time — and that’s exactly what happened with Rylan’s dog, Tyler,” says local resident Ieesha del Toro.

Ieesha adopted Tyler for her son, Rylan, who is almost 13. From the very first moment that Rylan met Tyler at The Ranch, there was a connection between them and Tyler attached himself to Rylan. She says that Tyler followed Rylan everywhere and it was clear their personalities were a perfect match. From day one, Tyler has been calm, gentle, and super chill. Rylan can lay him on his back anywhere and he just lies there, relaxed, like he has no other concerns. Tyler also rides around with Rylan on his e-bike, looking adorable.

Tyler is incredibly social and gets along wonderfully with the other family pets — a big Belga mix, a Chiweenie, and even the cat. He fits right in as if he had always belonged there. Adopted in April, Tyler has truly become part of the family. Like most rescue dogs, he is very adaptable and was quick to adjust to his new home with Ieesha, Rylan, and Morgan.

Massachusetts residents Livia and Joseph Brine are also thrilled with their Ranch dog, Beyoncé. The Brines have a friend who volunteers at The Ranch and that compelled them to look at The Ranch website. With three senior dogs, they were not planning to adopt another. “But that’s when this little dog with big ears and missing a front leg popped up,” Livia said. “There was something about that face — she had a kindness in her eyes! My heart went out to this little dog that likely would be hard to place due to her missing leg.”

Beyoncé moved to Massachusetts in October 2023, and she instantly fit in. The Brines own a horse farm with lots of land and animals (sheep, cats and parrots!). Beyoncé has a respectful curiosity and is very gentle. When mares give birth, she likes to greet the foals. She is also a wonderful guardian alerting the Brines to visitors or trouble. Beyoncé even travels to horse shows.

“Don’t let the missing leg fool you — she is the fastest dog we have ever owned,” says Livia. “She loves to run and race the horses along the fences. Beyoncé is gentle, loving, vigilant, respectful, and playful, but she is definitely not disabled!”

Livia says, “It is the dog that chooses you — even in a picture, a dog can whisper and you know that dog needs you!”

Whether you come to The Ranch to meet the dogs or find one long-distance through our website, we have the perfect dog waiting for you.
