Our new location: Saint Andrew’s, 19 San Lucas, one block down from the Catholic Church on the Lake Side of the Carretera in Riberas del Pilar

In June of 2019, Bare Stage first presented The Ladies Foursome by Norm Foster, directed by Roseann Wilshere. It was rated “Best Play” by our audiences that year and we thought it would be great to celebrate its Five- Year Anniversary by bringing it back.

The Ladies Foursome is a delightful play that revolves around four women who come together for a round of golf in honor of their recently departed friend, Catherine. Over the course of eighteen holes, secrets and confessions unravel as the women discuss love, sex, children, and everything in between.

As they tee off and navigate the course, their conversations cover a range of topics, resulting in a mix of humor, poignancy, and touching moments. The play offers a unique blend of comedy and depth, showcasing the complexities of friendship, life, and loss.

Roseann Wilshere again directs. Her cast is L-R in photo: Lynn Gutstadt, Linda Freeman, Christine L’Ecluse and Sharon Jarvis.

Handicapped parking is available out front and there’s a parking lot across the street. Our theatre is a scent free location.

Door and Bar opens at 3:00 pm. All bar proceeds go to Operation Feed. Seats are held till 3:50 pm.

BRAVO BEETHOVEN – Saul Ibarra, Pianist

Saturday, July 6. Two performances: 2 pm and 4:30 pm. Lakeside Presbyterian Church, 250 San Jorge, Riberas. Tickets: 350 pesos each. Reserve by email at LCCOtickets@gmail.com . Early reservations are encouraged as every LCO concert sells out weeks in advance.

In December 2022 Saul Ibarra caused a sensation when he performed the Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Lake Chapala Orchestra. Saul is returning by special invitation to join the orchestra for their concerts on Saturday July 6.

The concerts celebrate Beethoven with two of his most famous works. Starting with the composer’s 7th symphony Saul will then join the orchestra for the exhilarating 4th Piano Concerto.

Mr. Ibarra hails from Ajijic and has been awarded prizes in more than twenty important piano competitions both nationally and internationally. Among them, the “Grand Prix” in the Piano Concerto category of the Klavier International Piano Competition for Young Pianists 2018 and third place in the advanced category (no age limit) of the Los Angeles International Liszt Competition 2018. He has appeared with the Jalisco Philharmonic and the National Symphony Orchestra and is currently completing his studies at the world famous Julliard School of Music in New York City.

“I am delighted that Saul has agreed to perform with the LCO again” says

Michael Reason, the orchestra’s conductor. “He is a musician with immense talent, both technically and musically, and all of us are looking forward to working with him once more.”

This concert is made possible through the generous support of Robert deRusso, Ingrid Goodridge, Joan Ward, Bill Heath, Donna Burroughs and Anonymous.

Indeed, Mexico’s folk-art traditions are disappearing at an alarming rate. Artisans need opportunities to sell their work and the Feria offers them a venue at absolutely no cost: no booth fee, no percentage of sales. We pay their transportation to and from the event and find them host families where they sleep and eat for the three days of the show. For some artisans, the sales they make at the Feria represent a major portion of their annual income.

The selection criteria for artisans are based on the merit and quality of their work, as well as their ability to continue to produce it. Traditional folk art reflects shared cultural aesthetics and traditions, however, for the purposes of the Feria, traditions are dynamic and traditional folk art can be both reactive to and innovative for the times.

Truly, we promote a wide range of Mexican folk art:  world class, up-and-coming, innovative, and traditional.

Having 85 artisans at the Feria offers the public the opportunity to see the work of some of Mexico’s finest artists, allowing each artist a place to exhibit and sell their work. Indeed, the Feria promotes the folk art of Mexico, while educating the public that such art is in danger disappearing forever. We are a non-profit organization and are run entirely by volunteers.
