Centro Educativo Jaltepec, located in Jocotepec, continues to strengthen its mission of transforming the lives of young women through education in hospitality and service. As 2026 begins, the institution has already marked the year with significant achievements, new academic initiatives, and meaningful opportunities for its students.
In January, Jaltepec was recognized as a CAF America International Validated Organization. CAF (Charities Aid Foundation) is a globally respected organization that evaluates nonprofits through rigorous financial, legal, and operational standards. This accreditation confirms that Jaltepec operates with transparency, strong governance, and responsible use of resources. It also enables donors in the United States to contribute through Donor Advised Funds (DAFs), further strengthening the sustainability of its Entrepreneurial Program.
On February 4th, Jaltepec hosted its annual Open House, welcoming members of the community to experience the campus firsthand. Visitors were able to tour the facilities, learn about the academic model, and see the impact of the institution’s scholarship program. Thanks to the support of sponsors and donors, all students requiring financial assistance have their education covered for the year—an important achievement that reflects the strength of the Jaltepec community.
At the end of March, during Holy Week, a group of students will travel to Rome to participate in UNIV, an international congress that brings together young women from around the world. For many of them, this will be their first time traveling abroad. The experience will allow them to engage with different cultures, expand their perspective, and reflect on how their professional path can contribute positively to society. As part of their preparation, students have organized fundraising initiatives, including the sale of baked goods.
In response to the growing importance of the culinary industry in Mexico, Jaltepec has also launched a new academic program in Food and Beverage Management. This program offers more specialized training in gastronomy while maintaining the institution’s strong foundation in values-based education.
Additionally, Jaltepec continues to expand its “Catas con Causa” initiative, a series of guided tequila-tasting experiences designed to raise funds for its Entrepreneurial Program. These experiences, now extending to Guadalajara, offer a unique, premium, and educational approach to tequila, led by Montserrat González and featuring Leyenda 1925, a family brand rooted in over 100 years of tradition. Participants gain a deeper understanding of the production process and cultural significance behind each bottle, while directly supporting the education of Jaltepec’s students. As space is limited, those interested in attending are encouraged to reserve in advance by contacting di_administration@jaltepec.edu.mx.
Through each of these efforts, Jaltepec reaffirms its commitment to creating opportunities for young women to grow, lead, and generate positive change within their communities.
