A best-in-class, unparalleled 3-day event featuring Mexico’s finest and most amazing folk art.
Where: Hotel Real de Chapala, Ajijic, Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico
When: November 8, 9 and 10, 2024
Since 2001, Feria Maestros del Arte A.C., a volunteer non-profit in Mexico and the U.S. conducts an annual 3-day art show held at Lake Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico.
Our mission is to preserve & promote Mexican folk art and the cultures that produce them. Feria provides artists a venue to sell their works. Feria promotes regional and international awareness to the value of these endangered arts.
500+ artists have participated in the last 20 years. Eighty-five artists from all corners of Mexico from all corners of Mexico will join us this November. Artisans are invited to participate based on the merit/quality of their work as well as their ability to continue producing it. Art that has been in the same family for generations is of particular interest to the Feria. Cooperatives that benefit more than one artist’s family are sought out and invited to participate.
The economic effects benefit as many as 1500 people back in the artist communities. Artists pay nothing to attend the show – no booth fee, no percentage of sales, – and they are housed at no charge with local residents for the 3 days they are at the show.
In addition to the finest folk art, we are proud to have Maestro Paco Padilla perform Saturday Nov. 9 at 1PM.
“Singer for passion and potter for tradition, Paco Padilla carries in his veins the love for Mexico and expresses it both in music and ceramic pieces. His songs are testimony to the customs that are gradually disappearing but that have formed an identity, with lyrics that express from the most daily to the themes that affect us as a society, making an invitation to take a positive position and be a factor of change”. https://www.pacopadilla.com/.
Ballet folklórico performers Folklorico Guadalupano del Dif Municipal de Chapala, along with Nina’s Events Katherinne Aponte Paulina Leonardo, the Academia de Ukuleles de la Ribera, and the Mariachi Juvenil Axixic, and more.
