Gunderson’s writing sparkles with humor, warmth, and insight, bringing Ada’s story to life in a way that is both entertaining and enlightening.

CHAPALA FILM SOCIETY

The Chapala Film Society presents Cine en el Parque, a cultural project designed to reactivate Parque del Castillo in La Floresta Park through cinema, art, and community engagement.

Movie screenings are free. Fresh popcorn, snacks, and drinks are available for purchase at each screening. We kindly ask attendees not to bring outside food or drinks, as purchases at the event are what make it possible to keep this project free for the community.

Live at the Met: The Barber of Seville

Gioachno Rossini’s opera, Il Barbiere di Siviglia (The Barber of Seville), filmed live at New York’s Metropolitan Opera House and shown in LLT’s main air-conditioned McIntosh Auditorium with its state-of-the-art screen and sound system. Sung in Italian with English subtitles. Count Almaviva, who, disguised as a student named Lindoro, attempts to win the love of Rosina, a young woman under the guardianship of Dr. Bartolo, a jealous man who plans to marry her. Fathom Entertainment called the production, starring Baritone Andrey Zhilikhovsky in the title role, an “effervescent comedy…a madcap production.”

You can purchase at the box office with an INE card to receive a 100 peso discount.

FoodBank Lakeside needs a Newspaper Editor to compile a monthly newsletter highlighting the good work of Food Bank Lakeside. Computer knowledge, good writing skills, and preferably MailChimp experience, desired but not required. English proficiency is required. Time commitment is approximately 3 hours a month and done on your own computer in the comfort of your home.

Lucky Dog Rescue and Adoption Center needs volunteers

Volunteers are needed to help with daily shelter tasks and dog walking, cuddling, or playtime. Minimum time commitment is 2 to 4 hours, one day a week with 4 hours being a ’shift’ as Lucky Dog is open from 9 to1 every day. English or Spanish speakers welcome.
